Youth empowerment workshop
The AAF and the Council for Youth Development collaborated to provide a Youth Empowerment workshop for Black and Biracial students on Friday October 30, 2020. It was a huge success! We had 21 students participate from four high schools inclusive of sophomores to seniors. Mayor Lienhoop welcomed the students and reminded them that we want them in the community now and in the future. Our keynote, Brittany King, a Columbus native zoomed in from New York City and was both awesome and inspirational. The session focused on helping students discover their SPARK, strengths, and interests, while encouraging them to develop and pursue their goals. We also provided follow-up community resources and contacts for continued support.
