Youth empowerment summit

The Youth Empowerment Summit was a collective effort from Council for Youth Development, AAFBC, Tufuturo and the Human Rights Commission to provide diverse high school students with a full day of engaging activities designed to build leadership skills, inspire personal action, and expand their vision of a welcoming, safe, and supportive community for all. It included a mayor’s welcome and a keynote message from Tyshaun Allen from Taylor Bros Construction, a graduate of East High School. The topics covered were Adulting 101; You Matter: Now Organize Your Life; and Building a Sense of Belonging.
